Catavo Announces Docent Outliner Conversion Solution
Warrenville, IL - June 7, 2007 - Catavo, a leading provider of Human Capital Technology Integration Services, announces the expansion of it Rapid Courseware Migration (RCM) program for legacy Docent Outliner users. RCM Outliner Series is available immediately and consists of automated technology and services to quickly migrate content from Outliner to a standards-based e-Learning platform. As a result of the conversion program, customers have courseware that:
- is proven to run in a multitude of learning management systems (e.g. Saba, Plateau, and SumTotal)
- does not require proprietary plug-ins (or the Docent CDS) to run,
- is AICC and SCORM compliant,
- is able to be edited and maintained anytime, anywhere via a web browser,
- establishes a reusable media library to utilize all existing learning assets, and
- provides a complete collaborative community for further development efforts.
"The RCM program offers companies a way to unlock years’ worth of eLearning development, moving from a proprietary, desktop authoring paradigm into the next generation – an open, web-based learning content authoring system." states Jeff Groch, Principal of Catavo, LLC. Groch adds, "We have been involved with a number of complex courseware conversion projects, ranging from DVD-based courseware conversion to multi-byte character set translations to raw Microsoft Word conversions. Applying our courseware conversion technology skills and experience to the Outliner platform will clearly benefit a wide number of organizations."
Customers are introduced to the RCM program with a free consultation, establishing a baseline to assess their current state. Based on this initial assessment, an action plan is put into place and the program is tailored to fit each customer’s specific needs.
